Period question about you?

Before you girls got your period... were you worried that you would get it at a late age? Were you ever worried that you wouldnt get it? Did you ever feel left out when your friends got thiers and you didnt have yours yet? Were you Dissapointed when you got it? Were you waiting for it? did you want It? Please this is how i feel mostly I feel really left out now that my both of my bffs got thiers and im the oldest... my sister got hers in fourth and my mom got hers the summer going iinto seventh grade and im going into seventh. please answer
Answer:
I didn't know what a period was when I got mine. I was in the third grade. When I saw the bleeding, I thought I was bleeding because I was holding it a long time when I had to pee. I didn't tell my mom because I was afraid I'd get in trouble (I was very timid as a kid). I went on a field trip with no pads or anything because I didn't know what it was. It was embarrassing because other kids were making fun of the stain on my pants. The teachers didn't do anything (incompetent bitches). My mother didn't find out it until she did my laundry and saw the stains. I am now 20 and in college, and I hate this curse of a period.
Hahhaa...Sweetie you don't want your period, trust me I was like the second out of my entire grade (of the girls) to get my period.. You are NOT and I repeat NOT missing anything.. I did wanna get mine when I was in 4th grade because I was curious, and now I regret that. I did get it in fifth grade and let me tell you I wish I had never heard about it..Its not that it hurts other then the cramps...but the timing is all off...Trust me with this advice, enjoy your time you have..
Olivia%26lt;3
I got mine at the end of 7th grade and I was 12.5 years old. I didn't really mind whether I got my period or not and I actually didn't think I would get it that early, so I was surprised.

Don't worry about getting it too late. Seeing how old your sister and mother got theirs I'd say that the chances that you will recieve yours is either in 7th or 8th grade. There is no such thing as never ever getting your period.

Some girls don't get it until they are 16 or even 18. It will happen whenever your body is good and ready for it.

Don't feel left out because trust me, there is nothing special about it. But I didn't feel left out because I knew a lot of girls who hadn't gotten theirs yet until highschool.
I wasn't really worry when I would get my period at late age. I wasn't worry that I wouldn't get it EVERY girl gets it unless you have a health problem. I didn't felt left out because I was the 1st girl to have my period. But if your feeling left out you should ignore those girls who saying they had their periods cause that's plain oh gross if your bragging. Boy was I disappointed when I got it it got all over my new dress. I wasn't waiting for it. I really didn't wanted will i was 15. It doesn't matter you shouldn't feel left out your body develops its own way. Your period will come when it comes okay?
i was mostly dissapointed because it was gross and nothing to be happy about...but i guess its apart of becoming a woman.
I can understand how you feel...curious, ancious, scaired...that's what I remember. I was never worried about weather or not I would get mine, I was shocked and scaired when I did. I was waiting after school for my ride...it was a friday right before my 13th. and I was going to spend the night at my friend's house...her brother was hott and he liked me, I was excited! I started right before they picked me up, and due to the fact that it was my first one, I didn't know what to do, and her sister was a Bei-otch...the whole fam damily knew, I was sooooo embarrased, but you grow up, you learn, and you move on...it will soon be a burden at times honey, don't wait for it...just keep livin life and have fun!
Well I never worried about getting it late,I thought I would get it at like age 10 or 11 but when I got it I was 12 in the middle of my 7th grade year so don't worry, some people get it at 13,14 or 15.don't fret.I understand,it's normal to feel left out.
see saraah i really understand you but you are wrong you should be happy that you dont have they are terrible because
of cramps they are terrible so calm down and be happy and mail me kj_kharbanda@yahoo.co.in bye
lol.. ok mine i didnt know if my friends got it.
but i didnt want it..
i always wished i would be 15 and get it.
I was in shock when i got it.. and was all shakey.
Lucky u dont have it yet..
Dont wish for it..
once you have it you will wish you were never scared and would fear you would never get it.

Period Problems?

there is barely any blood. its more of a brown substance. is this bad? is it because of stress? should i get it checked out?
Answer:
This is fine. It is just the old blood cleaning itself out.
get checked 1 of my ex told me bout it and she said she went to the doctor the blood goes 2 other parts of the bodie when its not coming out
The brown is normal it is called discharge and mostly every woman gets it. Dont be worried about it. I had it everysince i started my period.
Talk to a nurse or doctor to be sure but - it can be normal; it might mean you aren't drinking enough water. Stress can do many things; if you're under stress, maybe you need to address THAT. :)
I would get it checked out just to be on the safe side. you don't want to have anything messed up down there! You are probably fine and that's how your body reacts during a cycle. Questions you should ask yourself = are there any medications that could be affecting this? are you regular? are you on birth control? all of these can be factors, but go get checked to make sure there's nothing serious!
u have nothing to worry about!! u don't only lose blood during ur period but you actually lose more of that other substance. ur fine!!
everything is natmal you are fine lol be happy you have a little mine are mega bad

Period problems?

how can i avoid feeling nauseous on my period?
Answer:
Most likely your nausua is caused by the rise in estrogen before your period..

But talk to your doctor, putting you on the pill could help, if you
are already on the pill, your pill may need to be changed. Different pills have different dosages of estrogen.. some people do good on the mini pill, some need a pill that steps the dosage during the weeks before..

I used to have the same problem. The doctors originally put me on the mini pill, it helped some, but not much.
Basically the same thing they tell pregnant women, helped me. I would keep some pretzel, crackers, toast, by my bed, and eat something before I even got up on the day I was supposed to start. Say I started early, ya know those times you wake up in the middle of the night and.... I would eat something before I got out of bed and started moving.

As long as I followed this rule, I was okay.

Later they switched me to one of the STEPPED pills and that stopped it all together..

but everybody is different.
good question... I have the same problem...
I dont think you can. Drink lots of water.
a sign of PMS dont eat too much junk food including pop but try drinking water but not too much as soon as you drink aloot of water and get up you will fell bloated with water at least thats what happens to most girls
well you can talk to you ob or probably talk to your family doctor and tell them your problem and they may prescribe you anti nausea medication, they prescribed it to me when i was pregnant.

Period problems?

why when you have your period there is so much blood in the morning
Answer:
coz you are lieing down and he 1st is a long gush
because you've been in a horizontal position sleeping and when you get up, gravity comes into effect.
gods clever thats why...
because its all the old blood from over night
Because of the position you are in when you sleep as one of the other posters said but I have also noticed that because of the way I try to keep the flow in check by keeping my iron levels up that my flow is actually lighter in the a.m. I will often get a heavier flow in the afternoon with my periods now unlike when I was a kid when I would have the heavier flow in the a.m. because of having slept all night.
because you've been lying down and with me the blood does build up as it doesnt have a chance to flow properly. for this reason i also get cramps as soon as I get up.
Ask mother nature.
that's just the way it is.
you wouldnt notice it if you were up and about all day, but because you're liyng down it's more noticeble
Good question! I've always wanted to know that too. Mine is always heavier the following morning after I've started my period %26 mine is due today =( I feel like rubbish and it's not fair what we women have to go through. On top of that I haven't been feeling well so I've missed a few days of work but atleast they're understanding. I think my hormones mess up everything in my body but when my period is finished everything returns to normal =)
because you are ying down and the blood pools in the vagina
gravity

Period Problems!?

Okay, well I got my period last week, and it was black-ish and light, and now all of a sudden it's NON STOP. My pad fills us really quickly, like in 1 hour or so. Usually to get my WHOLE pad filled up takes wayy moree than 1 hour! I'm really worried.. I had BLOOD PROBLEMS before, but I had surgery to "fix" that. Im so worried, and that's why I didnt go to school today. I don't want to go to school tomorrow either.. if this isnt going to stop... I don't want to tell my mom, even though she knows I got my period. But still, I can't trust her, because she babbles everything around to everyone. Surely I'm not telling my dad, he's annoying x.x %26 I'm scared of the doctor. I been there so many times before that I'm tired of it. Well, can someone please tell me what to do? Maybe what to eat/drink to slow this down? I'm scared :(
Answer:
please speak with your mother about your problem..this could be very very serious

and FYI there's nothing that you can eat or drink to correct this problem.

good luck
Ok dear, first thing...calm down!! It'll be okay eventually. :) I'm afraid that you will have to tell your mom. I know that its embarrassing that she blabs everything but maybe you can ask her not to. just tell her that this is an embarrassing thing for you so can she please just help you with the problem without telling anyone. Also, I'm afraid you will also probably need a doctor. I don't have any other answers for you. :) Good luck!

Period problems please help...?

okay well my last period was may 11th and i am on a 26 day cycles when should i get my period i went to my montly cycles . com and it said today but i went to femta and it said tomorrow and its really confusing me because i want to take a pregnancy test to see but im not sure if i missed my period so can someone please help me
Answer:
If you're counting your cycle correctly, where the first day of actual bleeding is day one, then today is the 26th day. However, early in a pregnancy, first morning urine is the best to use for a pregnancy test. The level of hormones that a pregnancy test looks for is highest then, as you've been sleeping and neither drinking something nor urinating for several hours. You're best waiting til tomorrow to take a pregnancy test anyway.

Good luck.
if your supposed to start today or tomarrow you can go ahead and take a test if your worried
well it's common to ladies to lose their period it's called a irregular period, and it might be that or even continues just take a pregnancy test to be sure!
today but don't panic unless you would like to be pregnant
you still have all day,but as they said take the test if you
feel too stressed about it.good-luck

Period problem?

I am really concerned about my period this time It is my first day and I think I'm bleeding to much. Advise pls
Answer:
Some periods are heavier than others. If you bleeding through a super tampon or pad every hour, and continue to do so for several hours, you need to get checked out.
don't worry about it, if will slow down in a day or so! If it's still bleeding the same amount then go to the doctor!
take pills for cramps, and it slows down in 2 or three days, its normal.oh and if bleeds alot alot thats soomething you should go to the doctor about.
Wait and see if it slows down.
I don't think there's anything to worry about. I have done that before. Do you mean first day as in your first period ever? Or is this just the first day of your period?
don't worry about it, it could just be left over blood, stocked up that wasn't discharged last time, so you have a heavier flow this time. but if it really concerns you, go to a doctor.
for most women the first day of the period is the heaviest. some when go through a couple of pads or tampons a day. unless u are feeling weak or showing signs of becoming anemic there proably is not a problem. check out webmd.com for more info.
i would get a pelvic exam,,, u could have pollups,,,,,,, or maybe even cervical cancer. dont let it go on for to long

Period problem.?

Ok I just got my period on thursday, I wanna know how to hide a used pad in school? there are no individual trash cans for each toilet stall, there's only a big one where everyone can see, and the bathroom always has girls in it, i'll never be alone. so how can I hide it, I know how to hide a clean one... but a used one.? (and by the way, my backpack is huge, cant take it in with me, besides it would be very obvious) PLZ help.. thanx in advance :P
Answer:
hmmm oh god thats tricky.. well i would wrap it in ALOT of tissue.. sort of hide it in your hand, have more tissue in your other hand (clean!) blow your nose with the clean tissue as you exit the stall, and subtely throw both tissues away.. or hide it in like a food wrapper thats in your pocket.. also go in a different times throughout the day, so the same people wont always be in there t think 'why does she always blow her nose when she get s out?' oh and one more thing, i always try and get one of my friends (who knows im on my period) to come with me, that way its just overall less embarrasing!! oh and see if you can make a suggestion to the the principal or something for individual trash cans in each toilet.. good luck x
i used to worry about that, but honestly no one cares, everyone gets it sooner or later. try bringing in a brown paper bag in ur book bag or jjust folded up and then when ur done put it in there and put it back in ur backpack. u can then throw it out wherever u want but dont let it sit in there! or u can ask the principal to add bags, thats crazy that there arent any! maybe even try bringing a paper bag and clinging it on to something in there, im sure other girls are dealing with the same thing.
how old are u? Because if your in high school, then most girls probably have their period and wouldn't care that ur throwing it away. But maybe you can go to the bathroom during class so your the only one in the bathroom. Or you could write a letter to your principal or someone at your school to get little trash cans in each stall.
hope i helped
Somebody at that school needs to wake up and get individual trash receptacles for feminine supplies. That is ridiculous! The only thing you can really do is roll it up in toilet paper and put it in the trash. Who cares? You don't need to hide it, girls won't care and if they do they're probably jealous that they don't have their period yet. I guess if you had to you could keep something in your pocket to put it in, and then take it out of your pocket- but it would look worse that you're trying to hide something. Hopefully you'll feel comfortable using a tampon before long and then you can just flush it down the toilet.

This is really bad advice, but when I was in school girls used to flush them down the toilet and then the administration got a clue to put trash receptacles in each stall. I mean who really enjoys caring it all the way out of the stall before washing their hands? Good luck!
wrap it up in toliet paper
don't be embarassed all gurls go thru it.

and maybe suggest to ur principal if you can get individual trash cans, lol

Period problem..?

Something is like wrong with my period. Last month it came 2 weeks late. And this month i was supposed to get it like 9 days ago. Whats going on?
Ans just to say i am in my teens.
I have been trying to lose weight but then after the next day i would just start eating normal again.
I am going through a little stress but not much.
And i havent really been working out.
So whys is acting so weird?
Answer:
Jane, the same thing happened to my friend. I looked it up, and that is actually normal. Your period is irregular. Sometimes it falls on an irreglar pattern when you first get your period, or anytime after. So I think for now it's just irregular. Remember, you can get your period every 28-45 days, and it won't always be the same time when you have an irregular period.

Period problem...?

i havent started my period since febuary im 15...its been about 1 1/2 year since ive starteed my period and ever since i dodnt start my period every month i start it mostly every 2-3 months but this time im kind getting worried and no im not pregnant
Answer:
Cycles usually tend to run irregular when you first start to menstruate.
I would talk with your female relatives (mom, sister or aunt) %26 see what is normal for your family. Sometimes loosing weight can disturb your cycle, female athletes lose their cycle when competing. If this continues, you need to make an apt. with your doc. %26 get checked-out.
i think you should see a doctor and see what is going on
Talk with your mom about it. You may need to go to the gyno and get on birth control. It will regulate and stabalize your period.
Women's cycles can be really crazy, and it doesnt always mean there is something wrong with you. For the first few years I had it, I would get it sometimes every other month. If you are really worried, ask your mom (older sister, whoever) to take you to the gynocologist. She will able to tell if its a problem or not, maybe even put you on birth control to regualte it (so you know when you will get your period, and get it once a month). I wouldnt be too worried, but if it makes you feel better, go to the doc's...Good Luck
u need to go to the dr. they probably need to regulate your period and sometimes they do that by using birth control pills.
you have no need to worry, your period is controlled by hormones produced by many different glands but here is the basics, the hypothalamus signals the pituitary which signals your ovaries which secrets more hormones to regulate the actions of the uterus, now these are some of the things which can affect these processes diet, stress, emotions, physical activity, infections, illness, medications hope your getting the picture, and it is very common to have irregular periods through out your teen years, if this is to great a concern then schedule an appointment with a gyno who can give you b/c to balance your hormones and thus regulate your period, hope this helps!
it could be normal or probably your underweight..periods happen only if you meet the normal weight for your body. If you're neither pregnant nor underweight, the best thing i can suggest is for you to go to a doctor. There might be something wrong with your systems.=p
YOU GOT AN STD

Period Problem Can I stop form getting my period?

My mom is going to Puerto Rico July 4 th and that's the date to get her period. Is there anything she can do to stop from getting her period that date since she wants to enjoy her trip.
Answer:
There are new types of birth control you can take now that let you only have periods like 4 times a year, but not sure if they'd take effect fast enough for a July 4th trip.

Have her call her Gynecologist and see if it would work. I plan to talk to mine about it when I got for my annual exam in August as it'd sure be nice to only have to deal with that 4 times a year ya know?
No I don't think so. If she doesn't think about it and keeps busy having fun she won't even think about it!
If she's on birth control, tell her when it comes time to take the "sugar pill" just start a new pack of bcp.
vitamin K
I don't know of any natural way to stop her period that fast. There are some types of birth control that slow down or completely stop your period but, she's going in July and I don't think they work that fast. Be aware that there is alot of contoversy about it. Some doctors and scientists say that it is not good for your body to stop something that occurs naturally. She might think it's cool now , but it may hinder her ine the long run when it comes time for her to go thru menopause.

Period Problem - Large blood clots??

Today I went to the doctor after I had had an experience of a rush of blood clots passing through during my menstrual cycle.

The clots are LARGE and I have never except last months period had a clot. I went to the my doctor who said it wasn't normal. but nothing to worry about...Do you agree with him?

I feel as though I have lost too much blood with too many clots. When they were coming through they were probably coming out in a rush of about 3 at a time.Is that all blood? They range from the size of a golf ball to a tad bigger..its really scaring me.

I am on some hormone pill now which will apparently slow bleeding...thanks so much! Any suggestions will help! Thanks!
Answer:
Did you just go to the regular Dr. or the Gyno? Maybe a gyno would know more...Sorry I can't help, But I would be really scared too and want more answers also.
i suggest you get second and third opinion fron still 2 different doctors. if 2 have the same findings then thats it
did you by any chance have a tubal ligation? this happen with me and my dr. didnt do anything either said it will do that cause its old blood from previous months period
This occured with me and I was hemoraging. Did u see a gyno not just a regular doctor? Your on a hormone pill you said so it sounds like a possible hormonal inbalance. Go to the gyno.

Period Prob. HELP?

I haven't had my preiod in 3 months. I KNOW i'm not pregnant what's wrong??
Answer:
Please check with your doctor. You might have amenorria, or consistently missed periods, which can be due to a number of factors - too much exercise, too little body fat, etc. It isn't something to be taken lightly.
Could be stress.
Have you lost a lot of weight recently, or are you involved in extremely physical exercise? Both of these can be factors. Please see a Dr.
Something in your body is not working right. You have to have a certain amount of fat in your body in order to menstruate regularly...maybe you should go to the doctors.
Good luck
that happened to me, too. i went to go see a doctor, it turns i was just clogged up, so he kinda cleaned me out and it was better.
underweight?
we need more info to give you an answer, but it could be stress, menapause, lack of proper nutriotion you need to fill in the gaps, age weight and all that for a good answer
stress malnutrition anorexia menopause trauma/shock ilness weird cycle
book an appointment with ur gyenocologist
well if you havent been having them for very long then it is normal as you get older they will get more regular. if you have been having them for a while you might want to see a doctor.
Ask your doc
You need to go to the doctor. It is very dangerous to self-diagnosis. It could nothing but it could something very serious.
if you are taking birth control, it could be that, especially if its loestrin i take that and one of the side effects are no period.

Period preventing swimming?

I had a date with a couple of my friends to go swimming this afternoon. This morning, I got my period. I think tampons hurt when I try to put them in, so I had to call my friends and cancel the date. Any suggestions on what I can do next time so I don't have to cancel? I really don't like tampons.
Answer:
Well, if you want to go swim - tampons are the way to go. Just make sure you change it right after getting out of the water.
You are right, tampons need getting used to... but they totally work (specially in your case with swimming and all).
If tampons don't work for you, try to do something else on the date (movies, dinner, rock-climbing?).
I hate tampons too. The only thing I would say is "cowboy up."
Try a lubricating cream. It will make the tampons hurt less. They sell them at drug stores.
you aren't using the right kind, or the right size if they are hurting.
Ur just going to have to cancel. Tampons are the only thing to keep from leaking in the water. I dont get in the water at all when im on.
just try the plastic applicator ones. and use small ones. but other then waiting until your period is over tampons is the only thing to do.
try using the smallest ones. also, if you pull it out before it is full (so to speak) it is uncomfortable
Its tampons or no swimming.

Buy the slenderest plastic applicator tampon.
I got the same problem i hate tampons but i really like the gentle glide b%26#92;c there little.. but anyways i had to cancel a bunch but when you are in the water it not suppose to bleed out..thats what i heard. So just bring some pads after you get out of the water and change and put a pad on or something.. And you could wear some shorts and where a pad in the water but it would look like you have a diper on... so.. I would try a tampon but just get the small ones they dont hurt.
I wonder if you may be putting the tampons in wrong, read the directions again to make sure. or try another brand with a different type applicator. tampon is really the only way to go.
tampons are *especially* hard to make fit the first day. Bummer that you had to cancel!! Btw i hate them too, and at this moment i don't know *what* i usually do.
whenever me or friends were on our periods and we bled in the water we yelled shark attack! even if we were in the pool it always worked! JK
Sounds like you may be using the wrong size tampons or may just not be comfortable with the process of using them yet. When inserted correctly you should not have any pain, but it can be a little painful if you are too tense. Speak to the school nurse if you have one for some suggestions.
Definately the plastic applicator is the way to go. Tampons don't hurt if you put them in correctly. They only way that they might hurt is if you rip the hymen while putting the tampon in.
HTH.

~~
im the same way but if you put them in right...then you will be fine...i just recently had the same problem like 2 weeks ago but i couldnt cancel cause my friend got mad at me.when you put one in.push up not straight and relax.its weird at first...but when you swim...you wont feel it AT ALL. if you arent soo self conscious about it you will be fine bc if you dont notice no one else will. it sucks. but all women have to learn to use them for times that that.

Period painss?

this is gonna sound reallllly silly. but what does it feel like? iv had my period for over a year but iv never really thought about it because im the kinda person who always get stomachaches %26 weird pains, so if i get it especially more when im on i think it must be unrelated.. thanks anyone :)
Answer:

well. i get nausiated but ost ppl get like sharp cramping pains in their lower stomach

Period pains?!?!?

any help you can give me is much appriciated.
well i was on the depo contraception jab for 3yrs but decided to come off it as i was gaining too much weight so my doc gave me the pill which i didnt take so now i have been off the depo for 6 mths this is my 5th period and i am in agony the reasons i was on the depo was to stop my period because it was heavy and painfull, but this month is the worst pain i have ever experienced and i was wondering if anyone has been in the same sort of position as me and what they did! i spoke to a pharmasist who said go see the doc so i have an appointment in 3 days i have tried nurofenmax paramol syndol co/- codamol paracetamol and buscopan (which is for ibs but was reccomended by the pharmasist for the cramps) %26 none of these have even touched the pain! im changing my pad every 30 mins and it is the highest absorbancy! can any one help me please i dont know what to do to ease the pain thanxs in advance! xxx
Answer:
god!!!!!! do i know how you feel. iv been physically sick with the excrutiating pain. went for scans but all clear. iv been so scared of it coming on now it terrifies me.
what has helped is being prepared! as soon as you get the first twinge take pain relief, whatever suits you. still painful but bearable. i was waiting for the pain to start before taking meds and it was so severe, i was just vomiting them up.
good luck!!!
Hi there,
try using diclofenac sodium. It may help as it's supposed to reduce the swelling.
Hope this helps,
God Bless
Oh honey, I thought I had it bad! I use heat pads, which you put on the tummy, combined with pain killers, this should hopefully ease the pain somewhat. Hope this helps. x
I don't know about solving the pain problem, but at least try Lilletts (not sure about the spelling) 'super plus' for the hefty flow.
My sister visited me recently and she has always had a flow problem. I discovered that she has always used Tampax and that she could not go swimming because her flow was too heavy. I gave her a lillets and she swam all afternoon. Change your brand and maybe try a totally different pain relief tablet?
Hi yeah i was on the depo i gained loads of weight and was bleeding everyday and still am heavily, also have really bad cramps! I take painkillers and have a lavender wheatbag which slightly eases my stomach ache but i really could do with some advice as i'm going on holiday in a week and really need to stop bleeding and the pain!
i came off the depo about 6 months ago i had been on it for 4 years but recently found out it can effect your bone density if your on it for more than two years..

i found ponstan.. dunno about the spelling.. was rly good for the period pain again im not sure if its avalible over the counter. i also lived with my hot water bottle on my belly for a few days which helped ease the pain. as for the flow try using night towels. they used to work for me.

failing all that i was once told plently of fruit and veg and no choccy and fatty stuff helps ease the cramps alotho ive not really tried it myself.. hope im some help and hope you get better soon
theres not much else you can do - you must see a doc tho and get checked out in the meantime just stick hot water bottle on your tum and try your best to get thru it - and yes i do know what you're going through have been there
well a heat pack worked for me,u just heat it up in the microwave just so its a bit warmer than normal, put it over the bottom of ur tummy that should sort it out,u can get them from boots
either that or a tens machine there used for all sorts of pain including period pains.
could be due to being off the pill, your body is trying to but its self right hormonally.. though suggest seeing another doctor and your Gynaecologist!
I take two ibuprofen and one naproxen sodium tablet together and that usually works for my menstrual pain for about 3 hours. Nothing helps me for the bloodflow. I have a period even when taking contraceptives.
I am glad you are going to a doctor. That is your best option right now. Good luck.
see your GP

Period pains?

What can i take to ease my period pains and feeling bloated. The pain is so bad, nothing i take seems to work.
Answer:
Feminax is good from a chemist but the contraceptive pill totally gets rid of all period pains.
Ibuprofen or evening primrose oil works for my wife
a few days before your period start loading up on naproxen(aleve) that way when you come on, you already have it in your system.
I went on the pill and it was the best thing i ever done.
No pains.
In fact, you need never bleed again, as the only reason they have the week break is cos women expected it when it was first developed.
Are you on the Pill? If not I would get on that I used to have the exact same problem and I was perscribed the pill and my cramps were less severe and bleeding lessenend. Also try a hot bath, heating pad, midol every 4 hours and just relax on the day that they are the worst. If nothing helps you may want to go to your OBGYN and make sure you dont have an menstrual disorder.
nurofen does a heat pad that you put on your belly and they really do work!they cost about æ‹¢3 which isnt bad, other than that i use normal nurofen capsules and they work for me.
1000mg 3 times a day of Evening Primrose oil. You can find it in the vitamin supplement eisle at the store. It really does help. Its best if you start to take it a week before your period is to start.

Vitamin B6 take 150 mg per day. Also best to start taking it a few days before your period starts.

Ibuprofen-- You can take up to 800mg 3 times a day, not to exceed 2400mg in any 24 hour time period. Over-the-counter ibuprofen comes in 200mg tablets. Start a couple days before your period starts. May make you kind of sleepy, ibuprofen always makes me sleepy.

You can go to your doctor and get stronger prescription anti-inflammatories. I'm currently taking a prescription.
The classic pain killer to use is the NSAID mefenamic acid. If this fails then usually hormone managements are tried. This is either the combined pill or a progesterone called norithisterone.
umm i would talk to your mum or sum 1 in your family cause they probz had the sam prob cause u r all realted good luck chcik !! x
Use a hot water bottle or a hot bath, they really help.
Take 2 paracetomal and put a hot water bottle on your belly. That's what I do - works most of the time!

Period pains?

whats a good way to stop period pains?
Answer:
Excerise, drinking lots of water, heating blanket on your stomach, and midol (or any of the other medications that specifically made for that time of the month).
There are a number of ways to ease the cramps but they should only last a day or 2. Tylenol will work as will Advil but increasing fluids and even applying heat are options as well.
Back rub.Heat.Strong pain reliever.
Motrin, walking, heating pad, and camomille tea.
I take 2 Tylenol Pm's and go to sleep. When I wake up I'm 100% better.
If the pain is very severe you may want to talk to your doctor because you may have something called endometriosis. My doctor put me on birth control pills for it and it has helped a lot.
if your cramping take ibuprophen. works wonders. stay away from caffine. if its your back take a warm shower . these things help me.always keep the heating pad handy if these don't work go see the doc.
my best friend when i get my period is a heating pad u put in on ur tummy and it relaxes the muscles u cant get it at walmart or really anywere and tea
Take asprin on the first day your period starts.

Period pains but not due?

I am about 2 weeks away from when my period is due, but I feel as though I have it. I have lower abdominal pain, headaches and quite moody. What could be wrong with me?
Answer:
PMS and or ovulation
I don't know if it's normal but i get that every month! Always 2 weeks away.
You're ovulating
You could be ovulating. Is it a sharpish pain low down on one side? I always get anxious around ovulation time, so that could be what it is. Hope you feel better soon.
you could just have irregular periods or you may be pregnat
The pains ur having may not be from period. If u can, go to ur doctor. I, personally, think that it would be best to go to a female doctor because they may have experienced that before. U may be having ur period a few days or weaks after the pain stops.
you could have it early I had that last month and i Had 2 periods a week apart. one for 2 days and one for 5 days. I was so moody
It may just be one of your eggs being released from the ovary. I get this quite a bit. However if ur really worried, get checked out by a doc for peace of mind.

Period pain??

really bad period pain to the extent that i cant stop throwing up! its so bad, its like a constant dull ache in the lower pelvis and abdomen, %26 also my back, %26 a sharp stabbing pain, it lasts like that for about 3 days. Anyone have any suggestions to help with this, i've been on the pill and it did nothing for me, not even reggulate or change anything so that didn't help at all. the other thing i wanted to know was if Endometriosis was hereditary?? my mother had it really bad growing up.
Answer:
You can get the coil that has a slow release hormone in it, they are suppose to be pretty good, you get pains because when you come on etc it is the egg coming down the f/tube thats what my doctor told me. I tried the coil it did help with the pain/regulate but I was having problems %26 had to have mine removed. You have to see the doctor about getting these fitted
while the pain do you rest down and have a hot water bottle on top of your stomach?
if not try it out
hope youll be fine
Endometriosis tends to run in families. You sound like you are totally miserable. If you haven't been diagnosed with Endo, you would be well advised to call your doctor. You do not need to suffer like this. This is awful...

You need a thorough check up to make sure that Endo is not the only culprit here. In my case, a thorough pelvic exam and an abdominal ultrasound, let the doctor's know exactly how to treat me. Since I was beyond child bearing age, I chose hysterectomy. I just couldn't bear the monthly pain any longer. Thank goodness I was at the age that I could make a decision not to go through this anymore.

If you are still young, of course, this treatment is NOT for you. If it is Endo, there are some helpful treatments out there for you. The only time the Endo seems to totally abate, is when you are carrying a child. Unless you are ready for such things this is only a temporary fix. Please talk to your doctor right away. You don't have to suffer like this.

Best of luck to you

Period pain?

who hates having their period?? i dont want to feel alone.
Answer:
omg i hate it. trust me i have it alot worse. i get mine for a month straight and sometimes i don't have it for a whole month. it's crazy. you're lucky%26lt;3
Always did always will
Get on Depo...you won't have one anymore (at least I didn't)!
i do not like the period at all
dah...no woman likes to have their period.if it helps I have cramps right now too
MMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!...
I can't stand it.. I will be getting mine anytime now.. a nice hot bath, fat pants, chocolate and movies do it for me.. oh and pills with a heating pad if the pains are bad.. ahhh.. lol
I do. It's so annoying. I don't usually get really bad cramps but it's always there in the back of your mind you know? And it limits what you can do... sigh.
haha i think everyone does!
ME!!!
what are girls supposed to have periods i thought those were for the end of a sentence.

what is the kind of period you speak of?

im already 29
look everyone hates their period.it is such a big drag on all of us women..but you no if you dont want to have your period their is all types of pills you may take now days to have it less then you wont need to dell with that
I hate it, too. I don't think any woman in their right mind likes having their Aunt Flow from Redbank come to visit. But, you know, I kind of like it. Since I'm young, it's good to know that I'll be able to have children...hopefully. I want a whole bunch. Not really, only like 3 or 4. But yeah, period sucks.
Seriously, try eating bananas!
They work wonders.
Trust me, you are so not alone! The cramps, the bloating, the cravings, mood swings, and the overall messiness of it all make the whole experience completely miserable. This is why it's called "The Curse."
I think periods should die. Mine just started yesterday. I hate it so much. Mine is irregular so I never know when its coming, and it just happened to start right before school. I woke up uncomfortable with cramps, which really sucked because I had p.e. that same day. I had cramps in my lower back, my stomach was hurting, and everytime it starts I'm cold, and smells really annoy me and make me feel sick. AND on top of that my stomach hurts all day. I HATE THEM SO MUCH!!
Your period is God's punishment to you for yet another unfertilized egg and empty womb. God made women to have babies. If you got pregnant like you're supposed to, you wouldn't have to suffer your period.
What girl is comforted by the period? Every girl doesn't love it but you learn to live with it.Don't let it interfere with you life you need to coexist .
You are not alone? Woman for years have had cramps. Midol is cool. If they ever get severe, where you can't handle it, see a doctor. When I was a teenager, YEARS AGO, I had a cyst the size of a grapefruit. So, we can all say, oh well, get over it, BUT, don't ever let severe pain go on for a long time. Having a period is definately better than being pregnant.
Yes since I was 13
What I do for a relief is to take a Tylenol one day before my period and during my period; Seems to help me to avoid the blown feeling , crams, headache and my legs hurt also in this times.
oh gurl, i kno dats ryte!!
WHAT! Who likes getting their period?!?!
u are NOT alone..

doesnt it frustrate u to know dat guys can live happily all month long not having to worry about nething? im jealous.

Period pain?

does anyone know a good way to get rid of this pain? today is my 3rd day dealing with this pain..please help
Answer:
Get out the Midol, ice packs, heating pad, and you can also use thermacare patchs across your tummy. They really help. I used them after I had my csection for the cramps. Good luck. Just drink plenty of water and stay away from sweets. It makes it worse.
Exercise i heard it stops the pain. Also try a heating pad on your stomach. A warm bath or shower should help too. Did you take a pain killers?
Are you taking any medications
Midol or tylenol any of those usually work for me
Good Luck!
Go to the pharmacy and buy a heating pad, or those thermal heat that last for 8 hours. they help me alot.. Believe me i go thru the same pains every month almost.. I take a Tylenol every 6 hours and keep a heating pad on.. ( i know its summer but believe me it will help you ease the pain)..

Feel Better!

Bcn_mimosa
Pain killer's and a hot water bottle. Also drink soy milk, regularly. But get pain killer's quick girl. You dont have to live like that.
Midol
When I'm having a lot of pain during that time of month I usually find that taking a Midol works and laying down for most the day. But if you don't have Midol, taking a hot bath feels incredible, but don't use any bubbles or anything, just hot steamy water.
I also have this kind of problem and sometimes from the pain i fall down..It is normal to all the women, but i adviose you to do a radiografy to see if it is endometriosis, endometriosis cause many times this problem. If it is this, dont worry, it concerns the tissue of the uterus which is moving and it causes cyst..It can be treated..
But it can also be a normal pain, lately, i dont have it all the months, so i can tell you that if a big pain comes, only in this case, you can take a Mesulid(it is hard, never with the stomach empty)or any other analgesic.
Do also hot shpower, it is wrong what they say that you cant do, and avoid exercise, it can bring more blood, and pain..
Avoid also the sea, while you are waiting the period, 2, 3 days before(if the water is cold, you may have pain later), and wait till you are completely clear in order to go to the sea again...

Period pain?

I have period pain almost constantly but it gets worse on the first 2 days of my period. At this time I feel very weak sometimes even passing out and will vomit. The pain is a sharp stabbing pain in my right hand side of the abdomen. My doctor cannot put me back on the pill as it gave me migraines and i have a family history of stroke. I was wondering if anyone else has this and what they did to relieve it? Or is it something more serious than period pain? I take tranexamic acid but it only sometimes works. Thanks for the help.
Answer:
I used to have it like that before kids. I actually tied my stomuch with a scarf or a wrap... tightly ... wont feel that much pain... I still used to throw up though.

Try Aleve.. it works wonders too...

dont worry... once you have kids it passes...
i get thesame thing and nothing ever works, not even pain kilers. avoid eating sweets and drinkingt cold drinks. place something warm on ur tummy to make it feel a bit better and if that doesn't work the try nurofin plus!!1
hey i have the same pains during my menstrual cycle, you should try to drink lots of water and also try some iron pills (one a day for woman is good as well). If this doesn't help then you could also try to do a bit of walking. I know walking is hard to do but i have tried to become active and at times the pains don't exist. PS: go for walks for 15-20 minutes.

I wish this helps

good day
This might sound weird but vapourizer and ice for pain helps. You should also have your endometrium tested too.

Period lasting over 2 weeks with lots of clots. What is going on? Plz help ASAP! I'm so scared!?

My period was late this month by a couple days and I just had this feeling that I was pregnant. IDK how to describe it but, I was sure I was pregnant. I was just waiting a couple more days to test. Then what I thought was my period came. I didn't have the usualy cramps or anything like normal when I have my period. I just started bleeding and at first there was a little tissue and clotting(I usually clot a little bit with my period). And I just assumed it was my period but, part of me thought maybe it was a miscarriage. Anyways, I waited to see what happened and my period has been going on for 2 weeks or more and I've had a little more clotting than usual. Today I went to pee(Sorry this is TMI) and pulled out the tampon I had been using and noticed very little blood so, I thought it was almost over. Then I took a bath and when I stood up in the tub a huge clot came out(about 3 inches in diameter). It really scared me. What is going on with my body? Am I having a miscarriage or what?
Answer:
This is breakthrough bleeding which can act a lot like a menstrual period and an infection such as a cervical infection can cause this breakthrough bleeding to occur. I would recommend getting in touch with your dr to see what they think about this.
Sounds like it could be a miscarriage. Why don't you go see a doctor? You seem to be healthy otherwise. Many women experience early miscarriages, but you should still get checked out.
yes, I think you are having a miscarrage. But what are you doing asking about it on ByeDr.com?? No offense, but go to a woman's doctor!!
I would go to your DOCTOR asap. You have probably had a miscarriage or something else more sinister could be going on.
It could very well be a miscarriage and since you did not do a test there may be no easy way to know. I think the best advice I could give is to see a doctor (a gynecologist) as soon as possible. He will know what to do to find out if it was a miscarriage.

Period lasting for over 5 months now?

I've had my period for a bit over 5 months straight now. My doctors can seem to find the problem. I've been tested for anemia, and then i've had all these lab tests done and ultra sounds done. I was put on Bio-Identical progesterone cream, which helped my mood, but didn't stop the bleeding. I just want some answers. I've been to 3 different doctors. Has this happened to any of you? How did you get the bleeding to stop? I'm only 15.
Answer:
have they checked inside of you and did they do a D%26C
this is not right and also was one of the Dr.s a specialist in this area you need to keep at them to get you straightened up=never heard of anyone before bleeding steady
i had a period for 32 days and my gyn did many test also .since i was done having bio. children he did a hysterectomy .best thing ever for me .no more periods ever .no more spotting, cramping mood swings you know PMS lOl please see another dr. this is not normal and something is wrong.
well im not sure but it cant be a good sign
it has never happened to me and im also 15 too

i think it could be something above your vagina that has it letting the blood come out cause its somehing blocking the blood coming out but in your case it just wont stop

usually it stop about 1 week but this sounds really odd

are you feeling any weird or different besides mood swings

i think its best for you trying out other doctors too
Ok you need a new doctor. They need to check inside to see what is going on. They will do an ultrasound and may want to cartarize the inside to get the bleeding to stop. This is a procedure that can be done in the doctors office. It is called NovaSure. Ask your gyn about. Al that bleeding is not healthy. You will soon become anemic.
I really wish I had an answer! I'm so sorry, this must be awful. I would definitely go for a second or third opinion from a different clinic.

Period help?Again!?

I am on my period right now and at first i was bleeding terribly...this morning when I woke up I wasn't bleeding near as bad.but it had a brown shade to it. PLZ (again) HELP ME!
Answer:
It's ok; brown blood just hasn't been exposed to oxygen as much, or has lost the oxygen it had. It's completely normal, and for most women, it's a sign that their period is starting to wind down a little bit. Hemoglobin goes bright red when it has a full "load" of oxygen molecules attached to it. Less-oxygenated blood simply isn't as red.
Its normal. No need to panic.

Brownish colored blood is just old blood that your body is getting rid of.
Mine are always like that. However, if that's not normal for you, you may want to go see your doctor.
You are fine.Your blood flow can easily change colors and thickness as your activity level decreases or increases.
Well you're still young and periods aren't exactly regular right away.

The brown means you're about to be off your period i think.

Or there just isn't that much blood.

You're fine.
Periods can be weird sometimes.

Nothing to worry about

and if your not bleeding bad try using a smaller pad or even a panty liner.

you might start bleeding heavy again though.
Nothing strange your perfectly fine.

= ]
Brown is old blood that still needs to come out
That's perfectly normal. Some girls start out bleeding really lightly and end heavily and some start really heavy and end with light bleeding. When it's light near the end, it may be a different shade, but it's just old blood. The air if affecting the color because there isn't enough of it to keep it bright red.
i always wake up with no blood.. once you're upright on your feet the blood flows easier. i thinnk you're okay!
That's totally normal. Most women have a brown shade of menstrual blood before or after or even during their period.
Its normal. No need to panic.

Brownish colored blood is just old blood that your body is getting rid of.

Period Help?

Ok, I havent got my period yet. I want to know signs that means its coming. Just tell me signs and some helpful hints or advise!
thanks
Answer:
have you ever had your period? some symptoms could be some discharge/wetness when ovulating..breast tenderness/emotional/cravings/... even if youre off balance...you know running into things or falling/tripping sounds funny but its true..dont stress about it because stress can be a factor in why you havent gotten your period yet...you will get it soon and then you will wish you never had it...lol good luck hun and contact me anytime with any questions

adv. registered nurse practioner
This is a difficult question to answer, as every body is different.

Normally, breast development and underarm hair are signs that your period is near. Another sign is clear vaginal discharge. Your period should happen around 6 months to 2 years after discharge. Patience is key. Unfortunately, I don't have any.
ur breasts hurt
Some hints are:
Cramps
Feeling tired and just lazy
Mabye you see a brownish fluid in your underwear( thats a very light starting of a period)
Or it may just pop out of the blue from no where with NO sogns like mine did...luckly i was at home!!
Well heres one if you have cramps then that means u r going to have a period soon. (Make sure u r prepared) Hope this helps
:0 :)
Cramps, bloating, headaches, Nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, or a large appetite, craving junk food, being cranky and depressed and crying for no reason.

ALSO! Weird pains in your legs and lower back. Insomnia and a lightheaded feeling like you are going to pass out. Breasts get sore and swollen too.

Advice, when you get cramps take Advil. Tylenol will not work you need "Ibroprophin". That is what is in Advil. Put your feet up and take warm baths. Drink juice! Avoid Caffeine !!

Period Help?

I've had my period for the past 3 days. I think its almost over, I tend to have short periods. So can i go swimming without a tampon?
Answer:
As every1 else says.. dont take risk...
You can wear tampons while swimming, doing sports and other physical activity.. so, wear it...
just wear one to be on the safe side.
You can do whatever you want, but personally, I wouldn't risk it.
no you need one

Period help?

I am not sure but I think I got my period (for the first time) i was going to the bathroom and when I looked at my toilet paper it has a little blood on it but none was on my underwhere...is it my period?
Answer:
it could be and it could not be. it depends on how much blood. i got my period the first time last july, and i had VERY little (like 2 drops per day for like 3 days) in my underwear, of course the next time i had way more but that just goes to show that it could of been it ;o

i advise you to just put some toilet paper in your underwear for now, because you don't want to go out and buy pads if you don't have it. how old are you? anywhere from around 10+ is pretty normal.
maybe yes, u caught it in time! ignore the first answer this website is to help you if you dont feel you can talk to someone face to face
it might be. it depends on what it looked like and how much there was. how much is a little? and stuff like that. best thing to do is ask your mother or some other female who is close to you.
yea probably
where a pad just in case :|
O RLY
well what happened after that? you should put a panty liner on just to be safe because alot of girls start out really light the first day or so of theyre period, of nothing else happens it may be spotting, which is not neccessarily bad, could just be signs that you'll get it soon, but i would talk to a doctor if this occers again and you don't get your period
yeah,it's your period.Thank God for that
it very well could b that happened to me so i waited like a half an hour then looked again its was ver obvious there good luck im young too so i know it can b tough.
Its always a bit worrying when we find blood there for the first time, it could be a few things but the most probable is your first period. The very first one is sometimes quite light and they will soon settle into a routine.
Ask your mum to take a look at the blood if u are unsure, and you may want to wear a pad just in case.

Period help?

is it normal for it too be heavy in the morning %26 light by the afternoon (as in everyday of your period) thanks x
Answer:
Actually, it is, and here's why. When you lie down overnight, the blood pools in your uterus. When you stand up in the morning, gravity takes over and it begins to work its way out. By afternoon, all the excess blood has gone and you are only dealing with what is actually flowing at the time. Then you go to bed at night, and it starts all over again the next morning.
you can always become a bears fan
Talk to your doc. Each person is different.
yes because you've slept all night and fluid builds up, but over the course of the day you are going to the restroom more often, so it doesn't really have much time to build up like overnight.
normal is what ever is normal for your body. blood will lay in the uterus when you are sleeping...then when you get up it will flow...this is normal when you are awake you are more conscious of blood flow and change pad/tampon more often there by making it seem the flow is less.
hey there yer i think its pretty normal i mean after the first day or 2, i almost stop before going going bed and during the night until the morning! im sure ur fine

Period help?

i am 12 years old and have had discharge for a year i have hair on my vagina

how much longer until i have my first period and what is your period like and does it hurt or anything
Answer:
Hon, no one can really answer this question. From the things that you mentioned, it could be close but there is no way of knowing. As with all young girls, your period tend to come when it is the farthest thing from your mind.

Don't worry, It will come one day.
I dont think hair is an issue. It depends I had discharge for a while ustill I first had mine. Your period is annoying but you have to have it so you get used to it. The only time it will hurt is when you have cramps. Hope I helped.
%26lt;3
1-2 years after having a discharge but i had a discharge for 3 years and right when i was 12 and a half i got my first period mostly girls get there periods when ever there mom had theres but the average age to start your period is 12 and half you can get your period anytime i will suggest bringing a pack of pads to school just in case but you will have to be patient and wait till you get your first period
it depends every girl's different. it may take a while till you get it or it may be soon.

your period doesnt hurt. you may get cramps, which will hurt, but the actually period doesnt. the first time, you'll probably see a big brown spot in your underwear, and there'll be blood on the toilet paper. it'll last for about 4-6 days, then it should come every month. but at first, it's really irregular. you'll feel uncomfortable at first, but you'll get used to it. = ] don't worry about it
if you constantly have discharge, thats not good. Maybe you have an infection? If you have an infection you need to see a Gyno, she will examine then give you some medication to clear it up.
You period will come when its ready, there is no way to tell when exactly it will come untill you have had it for a while and can track your cycle. You may want to ask your mom, she might be able to tell you when hers started and yours maybe arround the same time :)
When you get it you may get cramps, bloating, headache, irrtable moods.
Some times yes it does hurt, the cramps and back pain is what hurts me, the actual blood that is comming out does not hurt and your vagina does not hurt just the cramps and headache or backache hurts.
You can take ibprofan or advil or pamprin/ midol to help
Dont stress over it, eveyr healthy woman has one and if your worried about having it at school, just stick a pad in your purse or backpack so you will be ready

GOOD LUCK %26 I hope I helped you
It depends, different peopl's body work different ways. You period doesn't hurt, but most females get cramps. It's more severe for some and other it's very light and manageable.

Period help?

im 15 and have had my period since i was 12. for this period and my last one, i've had sharp stabbing pains through my rectum (anal). they are really painful and i usually can't stand during them. they only really occur on my 2nd and 3rd day thought. i'm pretty sure this isn't normal since it hasn't happened before but i have no idea what it is. i heard somewhere it could be endometriosis but i'm not sure. Any ideas or help?
Answer:
you should go to a doctor. any problems with menstration should be checked out just because it deals with you.
I think you should definately get in to see your doctor, and soon! Especially beacause I am seeing that some of your pains are so bad that you can't stand? Wow, that is pretty intense. Please get in to see your doctor soon!

Period help?

hi guys
im posting this for my gf who i am very close with and we shear evreything with each other.
well at the moment she is having her period and was telling me that her lower back and boobs are very sore, i gave her about about an hour of massarging but that didnt seem to do anything.
she said that her boobs and back only get sore when she is having her period. she thinks its strange and is worryed about it so plz help.

thank you and any info will be passed on:)
Answer:
It's perfectly normal and due to the hormones her body are peeking at.

The best thing you can do for her, as you sound like such a comforting guy, is give her some Buscopan, available at the chemist which stops stomach cramps. Or some Ibuprofen tablets such as Neurofen. This will reduce any inflammation and pain her body is in.
DO NOT GIVE HER ANYTHING CONTAINING ASPRIN. This will cause excessive bleeding as it thin the blood immediantly.
A warm heat pack or cloth over her breast and back can also help a lot.
So can hopping in a hot bed with an electric blanket on.
She can hop in the shower and focus it onto the sore places.
Taking 1,000mg of Evening Primrose Oil tablet once a day is a hidden and not much talked about mormone leveler. It takes about 2 months to fully work, but is a wonder drug. And will help prevent further pain and discomfort in future.
Those are very common ailments. Nothing to be worried about. It comes from cramping and hormones running crazy through her body at this time of the month.
Perfectly normal, hormonal, aches and pains. Keep up with the Massage..great helper. Warm shower may help, taking a couple Motrin or Midol should help with the aches.
try midol or hot tea drink? maybe a bottle filled with hot water, wrapped in a t shirt and and held next to her.
i get it too, i think its normal. something to do with hormones or muscle cramping. all i can suggest is something warm on it, i.e. hot water bottle, warmth helps relax the muscles. Also maybe some kind of mild pain killer, something with Codeine in it, cos thats a muscle relaxer aswel. As for herbal stuff... try magnesium tablets, magnesium is supposed to stop cramping.
It's not strange, the small of her back and her breasts are typically supposed to be sore when she's menstruating. Try midol or pampren, should take all that away.
this is normal for a female to have sore breasts ans pain in the lower back at this time. there is nothing to be worried about. tell her to take a warm bath and take some pain reliever for the cramps. maybe drink some tea and rest.
Regular Tylenol (Acetominophin) pain reliever works for me. Also, anything with calcium helps reduce period problems because it helps to balance hormones (my sister uses Tums). I like to eat a lot of sweets during my period so I eat ice cream, it has calcium and satisfies my sweet cravings.
It's normal to have some lower back pain and tenderness of the breasts when one is having their period. Where the concern is with the cramps if they get so severe that it makes it hard to function on a daily basis. If this happens then this needs to be evaluated by a dr to figure out what could be causing this.

She can also try apply heat by using a heating pad or a hot water bottle to help some of that lower back pain.

The cramps are caused because of the uterus trying to push out the build up of lining that has occurred during the month and is now no longer needed since a pregnancy did not occur this month.

Period help?

I've had my period for 4 years now...
How can I get them to be lighter and shorter?
Answer:
Have you tried going on a hormonal birth control? If not, that's probably the best option for you.
Birth control pills . . . that's the only way and sometimes it has bad side effects.
u cant really do that on your own. birth control pills or other hormones will help.
birth control can make it lighter and sometime make it go away for months at a time ask your doc for depo
Ask your gynocologist about some of the different forms of birth control out there to help with the problem. There is
Seasonale, www.seasonale.com, an oral contraceptive, where you only get your period four times a year or Depo Provera, www.depoprovera.com, a shot which may reduce or eliminate your periods while you are on it.

Also, you didn't mention this but if you have really heavy periods there is a procedure called endometrial ablation www.novasure.com where the lining of your uterus gets frozen or burned and it stops the heavy periods, it sometimes even stops them all together.

Answer:
I use a long overnight pad at night too, and I still have a leak or two sometimes, but not every night.. I feel sorry for you!
Since you say you use a super tamon AND a pad, and that it lasts for a long time (The average is 2-7 days, mine is 6) you should probably talk to your Mom and she can set you up to get checked out by a doc. If you have a really long and heavy period you can get anemia (iron deficiency) and get really tired out and stuff.
The thing that I can tell you IS normal, is having had 5 months in between your first and second period. For up to 2 years after you start it can be irregular, your hormones just have to balance out.

So to sum it all up - you're probably fine but just cursed with a heavier and longer period than most women. From my research you are still in the normal range. Even in that case, since it sounds like it probably controls your life for those 8 days every month, you should go to the doc and see what options you have, like birth control. If you go on bc it will help your period be regulated and lighter, with a predictable cycle. Some of them even make you only have like 3 periods a year. So you should definitely look into that with your mom.
Best of luck!!
adjust the positioning of your pad to accommodate the leakage. you might also want to try super plus tampons on days that you are flooding. I've never had a period last 8 days, but if you're really concerned you may talk to your mom and possible see a doctor. i got my first period when i was ten, but age varies. it is very common though for your period to show up for the first time then stop and show up again a few months later. no worries there
1. Simply move the pad back farther so it doesn't leak out the back.
2. Are you inserting the tampon correctly? Read the insert inside the box or watch an animation online. Or maybe you just have a heavy flow and need super plus tampons.
3. Yes, you're perfectly fine. Everyone starts at different times; and for the first two years or so of menstruating, your periods may be irregular.
4. Yes. Some last for 4 days, some last for 8. Depends on the person and this may even be part of the irregular periods stated in #3.
5. Relax about it. :)
You're definitely having very heavy periods. And a couple of things you're saying makes me think that your hormones may not be balanced. For one, 16 is a little late to get your first period...not unheard of...but late. Second, 5 months between periods is a LONG time. I had that happen to me in HS and later (much later) found out just how screwed up my hormones were.

A period lasting for 8 days at your age is not uncommon. Some girls have it lucky and their periods only last for 3-4 days. I wish. Mine would last for almost 2 weeks at your age...again hormonal imbalance.

You might want to talk to your mom and have her take you to the doctor. I had to with my daughter at your age because her period wouldn't stop. It was worth it to find a solution. Good luck.

And take some iron. You're bleeding heavily enough to be getting anemic.
1. OK is it leaks then some times i would stick some tissue and put it were the pad does not reach and move the pad a bite up so it is were Ur butt crack is.

2. i dont know about that cuz i never used one

3. well kind of but it is supposed to happen every once or two months.

4. it is totally normal some times i have it for 10 days

5. well that's all but i hope my advise help u
Please go and see the gyn. Also don't use any tampons over night, especially the super size. If it is over 6 hours in your body, you can very likely get a toxic shock syndrome, wich is very dangerous.
1) If you have the longest pads already, try positioning it a bit further back than it is "supposed" to go. You're probably spending most of the night on your back and it's just flowing in that direction.
2) I have this problem the first few days of my period as well. We're just super heavy flowing people. Change as often as needed as use the most absorbent products for your flow.
3) Yes, this is normal...it may take a year or two to get "regular" monthly periods
4) For some people, yes
5) It is OK to use a tampon and a pad together. You can go up to 8 hours on a tampon (if your flow is light enough). Always remember to remove the last tampon when your period ends. Heating pads help a great deal if you have cramps.
See a Doctor. Not because you are in real danger but because there are simple medical solutions for the issues you are having. Alot of Women go on Birth Control just for the sole purpose of controlling heavy and irregular periods.
